Alternative Medicine To Treat Psoriasis

Updated: Jan 8, 2020

Psoriasis is a disease that affects the outside of the elbows, knees, or scalp, but it can also appear in any location. This disease causes raised, red, scaly, patches to appear on the skin. It is also associated with other health conditions, like heart disease, depression, and diabetes. There have been reports that some people, diagnosed with psoriasis, experienced burns, itching, and stings. More than eight million Americans have psoriasis, and it occurs in all racial groups. Usually, psoriasis can be treated by topical ointments, ultraviolet light therapy, and drugs. However, not all these treatments work on every individual.

A survey from George Washington University explained that when the prescribed treatment doesn't work on patients, they go for alternative treatments. However, the survey also showed that some patients do not have enough knowledge about the products and what will actually work for them. Read more about this study.
