Being an athlete is one of the best things that a college student can experience. Even though it requires sweaty training and complete focus, a lot of students still dream of being one. However, one of the hardest things about it is that it also requires diets. Thus, athletes are often fit. But, not most people know that some athletes also experience weight gain. This may sound normal but it can actually lead to heart problems.
A study by Emory Health Services found out that weight gain and increased systolic blood pressure were associated with arterial stiffening and the development of concentric left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). Learn more about this study.
